Important Downloads

Download the Chat app Line. This is used by alot of people who play WoH. It makes it easier to trade your cards or get the cards you are looking for.

Decide if you want to play for fun or play to win

The first thing you should decide if you are playing for fun or playing to win. Marvel: War of Heroes is free to play, but if you want to win, you are going to need to spend some money. When I say some money, I mean lots of money to win. Some people spend hundreds weekly on the special card packs to get the latest cards in the game.

Buying card packs is a waste of money. You will get a bunch of Rare cards and on a rare occasion you will get a SR or SSR. On an even rarer occasion you might get a UR card or rarer than that, like a 0.01% chance you might get a UL card. People spend hundereds and only get Rare cards. If you don't believe me check out CardPulls.com, they have a realtime list of which card is being pull out of card packs.

If you want the latest and greatest buy Power Packs. PP are the currency in the game. Its cheaper to get the cards you want with PP than buying cards packs. The only way to get PP is to buy them from Mobage in the store or to trade your cards for them. The normal price for 1 PP is 100 MobaCoins or Gold. During events Mobage sell 2 PP for 100 MobaCoins or Gold.

You can spend $100 on cards packs or $100 on PP. You can get about 200 PP for $100. Save up your PP and buy the cards you want.

Join an Alliance

The first thing you should do is join an alliance as soon as you can. But you need to make sure the alliance you are joining is right for you. Joing the right type of alliance that has the same interest for game play will benefit you and the alliance you are joining.

Here are a couple different types of alliances

  • Gerneral Game Play - Causal game play and the majority of all the clans out there.
  • War Clans - The main game play for War Clans is the S.H.I.E.L.D. Enforcement Training. War Clans will have certain requirement you must meet to join.

There are a few benefits from joining the right alliance. The first one is you can trade with everyone in your alliance once you been in the alliance for 2 weeks. The second benefit of joining an alliance is Alignment Boost Adaptors. Once an alliance has enough silver the alliance leader can buy stuff and the most important thing they can buy is Alignment Boost Adaptors. These adaptor boost a specific alignment, Speed, Bruiser, or Tactics. For example, the Tactics adaptor at level 1 will boost every tactics card in your attack or defense deck by 5%. At level 2 you get a 6% boost and at level 3 you get a 7% boots. Level 3 is currently the highest level adaptor an alliance leader can buy.

Another benefit of joining an alliance is the sharing of raider cards during a Raid Events. If you get in a alliance that share it's raider cards between members, you may not have to spend tons of money to rank higher in this event. By passing the raider cards around the alliance, it increases the rank the alliance and all the members in the alliance get a better reward card after the event is over. You get rewards for your alliances participation in an event. But you must participate in the event as well. Depending on where your alliance ranked, you must contribute a specific amount of points to the alliances total points to get the reward. If you don't contribute that specific amount you will get the reward at the level you contributed to the alliance.

Another good reason to join an alliance is cards donation. In some alliances, the members of the alliance give lower level members better cards to help them rank better in events. You might not get a legendary card, but there is a good chance that you get something better than what you had before.

If you get in the right alliance, it is like an extended family. You can have tons of fun and make some new friends.

Add Team Mates

Add a team mate when you can. This will help you get more Attribute points and will give you more trade routes to get better cards.

Distribute your Attribute Point

Distribute the Attribute Point you get correctly. The level below are what most players in the game will tell you to have. But this is mostly personal preference.
Energy: 100
Attack Power: 325
Defense Power: 200

When starting out put most of you attribute points in energy. This will help you do more missions so you can level up to the next rank to add more team mates. Each mission has 5 levels and each level in that mission will give you 3 attribute point once you clear that mission. Each team mate you get you will receive 5 attribute points. So in the beginning, distribute your points between energy and attack. Don't put anything into defense, yet. I would put more points toward energy and a few to attack. I got my energy to 100 before I started adding to my attack or defense. Once your energy is at 100, start putting everything into attack and defense.

Each card in the game has a power requirement. This power requirement is how much attack or defense you have. If a card has a power requirement of 29, you must have an attack or defense of 29 to use it in your attack or defense deck. If you have an attack of 58 you can you 2 of these cards on you deck. The higher your attack the better cards you can use to attack another player with. You want to be able to attack at least twice on with a full attack bar. Most SSR and UR+ cards have a power requirement of 29 or 30. So if you have five UR+ cards with a power requirement of 29, your total power required for attack would be 145. So you attack needs to be at least 145 to attack once with 5 SSR or UR+ cards. If you want to attack twice it need to be at least 290. Five Legendary cards require around 320 or 325 attack power for your deck. The same thing goes for defense them higher your defense is the better the cards you can use in your defense deck.

The reason you don't want to put to much in to your defense is because defense isn't that important in the game unless you are a Defense Leader for your alliance. You don't get any special reward or valor in event for having a good defense. In standard battles the only thing a good defense does is prevent other players from snatching your silver if the beat you in a battle. The quick easy fix for this is not to claim all your silver from your presents list. Only claim the amount of silver you need to boost or fuse the card you are working on at the time.

Log In Daily

Log into the on a daily basis. Most players are on the game hourly so this shouldn't be a problem for anyone. Mobage give us a daily log in bonus and sometimes they have rewards if you login for 5 days straight, but they haven't don't the 5 day thing in a while.
